Skill 2C
Addition Facts: Sums 5 and 6
The goal should be to eventually have the student answer these facts from memory,
although this doesn't typically happen until later grades. In the
meantime, students typically need to calculate answer by counting objects
of some type. We prefer the student use fingers for counting using our
"flying fist" technique (fingers are always with the child unlike other
counting objects). **If too much time is taken in calculating
answers skill should receive additional practice.**
Answer the addition facts as I point to them below.
If too much time is taken in
calculating answers - the skill should be practiced. |
